Altiscad Intellishape ® is a general purpose biaxial bending with axial force calculation software tool, developed to design and check any geometry cross section. The software performs advanced plastic analysis of cross section taking into account constitutive material model together with real material distribution in Bernoulli hypothesis. The tool satisfies the needs of nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete structures as well as the needs of the daily design practice. It allows the user to stil slender rectangular reinforced concrete columns with doubly symmetric reinforcement subjected to combined axial loads and biaxial bending, which is valid for short-time and sustained loads and for both normal and high strength concretes.

Altiscad Intellishape allows slender reinforced concrete columns and structural reinforced structural walls to be both checked and designed with enough accuracy for practice engineering. The software allows to design and check the bearing capacity (biaxial bending capacity) for any geometry (arbitrary cross section). The materials for the elements are concrete, reinforced concrete, composite, masonry and also user input materials.

The accurate and fast computation algorithm used in performing integration calculus is one of the main advantages of Altiscad Intellishape. The method is proposed for the study of the failure mechanism of reinforced concrete sections of arbitrary shape. In addition to the cases of classic reinforced concrete sections with longitudinal reinforcement steel bars, the method is extended to sections of reinforced concrete structural members repaired by jackets as well as to members with composite steel-concrete sections. It is also useful for masonry design, especially for structure rehabilitation with the possibility of strengthening masonry walls.

Altiscad Intellishape ® is a standalone software which cooperates with Autodesk's structural analysis software: Robot Structural Analysis (Robot Millennium) and with Revit Structure. The Integration between these softwares is another important advantage of this tool because of the iterative procedure due to the revit extensions provided by Autodesk and the Altiscad Intellishape Extension. Further on, the integration links the Revit Structure with Autocad Structural Detailing for final drawings.

Altiscad Intellishape ® is a must have tool for advanced plastic analysis of reinforced concrete structural walls, reinforced concrete columns or arbitrary cross section subjected to biaxial bending with axial force or axial eccentric load. In case of seismic estetică the need for such a verification is absolutely necessary. The computation algorithm is very accurate and fast even for complex sections. The results are displayed graphical and also tabular. Apart from ultimate strength analyses of cross sections, the algorithm can be applied to other problems in which the Bernoulli – Euler assumption is valid.
